Jeff Rinehart Tribute Weekend at Plaza Cinemas in Akron August 26th-28th

Plaza Cinemas at Chapel Hill Hosts Cancer Research Fundraising Events

(Cuyahoga Falls, OH) – On June 5, 2011, Plaza Cinemas at Chapel Hill lost a dear friend and colleague when General Manager, Jeff Rinehart, passed away after a brave fight with cancer. Jeff had worked at the Plaza Cinemas location for over 20 years and was beloved by the theatre staff and his regular customers.

In honor of Jeff, Cleveland Cinemas will be hosting a Tribute Weekend August 26th through August 28th featuring various fundraising promotions, based around Jeff’s love of sports, which will benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

"Jeff meant a great deal to Cleveland Cinemas and especially Plaza Cinemas at Chapel Hill,” says Ken Young, Director of Operations for Cleveland Cinemas. “Jeff's dedication to the movie industry and his love for sports made this planned weekend a natural fit. This event will give us all a chance to remember Jeff and raise valuable money for a great organization."

Fundraising events for the weekend include the following:
  • Memorial paper baseballs will be sold by the theatre staff for a suggested donation of $1
  • 5% of all concession sales August 26 – 28 will be donated by Cleveland Cinemas
  • The classic baseball comedy “Major League” starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Corbin Bernsen will be shown at 4:00 PM on August 27 and 28. Admission to “Major League” is $2.
