25 HILL premieres this weekend at Akron Civic Theatre

25 HILL, the Akron-made film about the All-American Soap Box Derby, will have its world premiere Saturday July 10th at the Akron Civic Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at 8.

Writer, producer and star Corbin Bernsen, cast members Nathan Gamble, Maureen Flannigan and Timothy Omundson, and Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic and other local leaders will walk the red carpet.

The film, shot largely in Greater Akron last year, charts the journey of 11-year-old Trey Caldwell, played by Nathan Gamble ("Marley & Me"). After his dad is killed in Afghanistan, Trey strives to compete in and help revive the faltering Soap Box Derby, and must devise a way to get from his California home to Ohio."

Tickets: $25 for Saturday night (includes one ticket and one DVD). There will also be a family screening at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 10. Tickets on Sunday are $30 (includes two tickets and one DVD).
