Boombox Challenge At The Capitol Theatre

Prove your love John Cusack-style and win a $1000 prize package

When John Cusack lifted a boombox over his head, in a modern take on serenading the girl of his dreams in SAY ANYTHING, a new bar was set for romantic gestures.  The Melt Bar & Grilled Late Shift film series will be showing this classic romantic comedy on Saturday, May 21st at midnight at the Capitol Theatre (1390 W. 65th St., Cleveland) and inviting contestants to prove their love in a BOOMBOX CHALLENGE the weekend before the screening.

On Saturday, May 14th starting at 4:00 PM registered contestants will gather in front of the Capitol Theatre to see who can hold a 10 pound boombox above his/her head the longest.  The winner will receive a prize package worth over $1000.  Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” will play non-stop, courtesy of Radio 92.3, as contestants compete for a romantic night at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, gift certificates to Melt Bar & Grilled and Luxe Kitchen & Lounge, a sexy gift basket courtesy of Ambiance, The Store for Lovers, four Scene Fantasy Seats to House of Blues:  Mega 80's, and movie passes courtesy of Cleveland Cinemas.

Advance registration is required for contestants online at www.clevelandcinemas.com  or in person at the Capitol Theatre.  All contestants must be registered by noon on Friday, May 13th.  Complete rules are available at the Capitol Theatre and www.clevelandcinemas.com.
