'Out of Place' surfs into the Lakewood Public Library April 21st

"There's No Surf in Cleveland USA" is one of the major pieces of surf music NOT heard in the documentary OUT OF PLACE, which bids to be the first nonfiction (or fiction, for that matter) feature profile of longboarders and hodads who actually try to surf the waves off Edgewater Beach and other Cleveland-area water-sports areas. Some of the surfers interviewed are just here temporarily and can't wait to leave, others are stuck out of job and family obligations, and a precious few actually have businesses catering to the microscopic North Coat surf culture. Co-director Scott Ditzenberger will personally host a free screening of OUT OF PLACE on Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Lakewood Public Library main branch, 12650 Detroit Road. Copies of the newly minted DVD will be for sale.
